About the movie:
Darini is a ritual for initiation of the Xavante Indians that occurs only every fifteen years.

Darini teaches the children the importance of their culture by means of music and dance repeated daily for the space of one month.

The young Xavantes themselves made the film, on request of the ancients in the village where they live, as a form of recording the culture for future generations.
